But he argues against that possibility on the basis of the Hilbert Hotel arguments and similar ones, not arguments from finite addition.

I don't think that the Hilbert Hotel argument (or similar ones) is persuasive at all. I addressed it in my reply to the KCA.Angra Mainyuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16342860692268708455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-207940809631227645.post-57833651589966774372016-03-11T13:13:45.768-08:002016-03-11T13:13:45.768-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Angra Mainyuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16342860692268708455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-207940809631227645.post-67496768169990012632016-03-11T12:34:37.665-08:002016-03-11T12:34:37.665-08:00Hi I'm a big fan of your blog. Something strange seems to arise for me at least with the notion of atemporal simultaneous causation and an all powerful God.

Youpeak of nothing counter intuitive about an infinite number of galaxies.

Presumably Craigs god could create atemporally an infinite number of stars, one for every natural number in one singular act of power.

In one sense Craig allows for one universe to be created atemporally- why not two though? Seems logically possible. Why not then three? And so on. This still takes no time at all. so there is no maximal limit there is potential infinity that could be created with no impediment.

And yet Craig would say that once created there could 'always be one more'. So on one hand there seems no issue no logical limitation and yet Craig would not allow it.

Does this mean there is at some atemporal state, a maximal limited number of stars god could create? Or a potential infinite that once actualised instantly becomes finite?

I understand how creating in time Craig holds this problem off- there's only ever a potential infinite, because it takes time to create stars say naturally. But what if that potential infinite took no time at all?

Any thoughts? Is this just a Tristam Shandy type scenario easily refuted?

Thanks.Fox ITKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00279690931742754745noreply@blogger.com
